Ijaz Ahmad leads the NRL exploration team and is an Assistant Professor at Abdul Wali Khan University Mardan. He specializes in mineral exploration, with over 15 years of experience in porphyry-epithermal Cu-Au systems. His proven track record spans diverse global projects, including the Reko Diq Cu-Au deposit in Pakistan, the Porgera Au deposit in Australia, the Talkeetna and Sierra Nevada arcs in the US, the Kohistan and Chaghai arcs in Pakistan, and the Vale Fertil arc in Argentina. He pursued a master's in Economic Geology from the University of Alberta, Canada, and later doctoral studies at the Mineral Exploration Research Centre (MERC) at Laurentian University.
