Dr Sajjad Ahmad currently holds position of the Director General, Geological Survey of Pakistan. In this role he provides executive leadership, strategic direction, and overall management of the organization. He has also worked as member of the Board of Directors of Government Holding Pvt Limited (GHPL) and Saindak Metal Limited (SML). Prior to joining the Geological Survey of Pakistan, he has served for about 28 years as a Professor and Chairman of the Department of Geology, University of Peshawar. In addition to his management and operational role, he has a successful research career and has published more than 40 research papers in national and international journals, two book chapters and 25 professional reports addressing the geological problems and hydrocarbon and mineral potential of Pakistan. Dr Sajjad Ahmad is also an internationally recognized consultant with more than 25 years of experience as a consultant Structural Geologist with Oil & Gas and mineral sector of Pakistan and has performed geological mapping, structural modelling, and seismic interpretation of numerous blocks for various national and multinational Exploration and Production companies of Pakistan.
